Conference Scope

The Megagauss XI Conference is the latest in a line of Conferences that date back to 1965, when Megagauss I took place in Italy at Frascati (Roma). Since then subsequent conferences have brought together distinguished scientists and technologists from many countries, to present their latest theoretical and experimental studies in such areas as the generation of ultrahigh magnetic fields, the development of flux compression generators, liner implosions for fusion problems, high-current switching technologies, and the application of these techniques in many areas of science and technology, including plasma and solid-state physics.

Although early conferences displayed a heavy bias towards defence matters, the number of papers presented at recent conferences of more general scientific and industrial interest has increased considerably, and the resulting proceedings have described a wealth of fascinating discoveries and achievements. The significant number that have been co-authored by colleagues from different countries is a very welcome sign of the relaxing of international tensions, and illustrates the common goals of scientists and technologists throughout the world.

Benefits Of Attending

To hear at first hand the latest research and developments in a very rapidly moving and expanding area of technology.

Who Should Attend

Appropriate university research group (e.g. in plasma science and solid state physics). National laboratories e.g. LANL and SNL (US), AWE (UK), VNIIEF(Russia) and CEA-GRAMAT (France). Industrial companies concerned with metal forming, sterilization, etc.

Keep me informed on MEGAGAUSS conference updates.
