ACDC is a long established and highly respected international conference on AC and DC power transmission. In the 5 years since the last ACDC there have been many developments in new technologies, which can bring benefits to asset managers and system operators. There have also been changes in the marketplace, with further de-regulation and the growth of merchant transmission schemes. The wider implementation of renewable technologies is having an increasing impact on network development. New challenges are arising from environmental, regulatory, political and social factors, which impact on the development of transmission networks.
The conference will address these key issues.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology
On 31 March 2006, the IEE and IIE are forming a new organisation, The Institution of Engineering and Technology.
Founded at the end of the 19th Century, the IEE was always a forward looking organisation, operating at the leading edge of the engineering community.
The IIE also had a strong engineering heritage, and was a multidisciplinary institution established across a wide range of engineering disciplines as well as within the technician community.
As engineering and technology become increasingly interdisciplinary, global and inclusive, the new Institution reflects that progression, and welcomes involvement from and communication between all sectors of science, engineering and technology.
Membership of the Institution of Engineering and Technology places you at the heart of a global community of more than 150,000 engineers and technologists.
Membership provides you with a passport to a powerful knowledge network, the opportunity to develop your own expertise and to share experiences and ideas with fellow professionals.
