| Special Session on Multimedia Processing for Intelligent Environments
Special session Organizers: Prof. A.N. Skodras, Hellenic Open University, Greece, Dr. V.F. Ruiz, University of Reading, UK
Personalized and natural interaction with an intelligent environment can only become a reality when multimodal data of the inhabitants can be properly acquired and analyzed. Environments can really react and provide ‘intelligent’ or ‘smart’ services by processing of such data and extracting features and knowledge.
The focus of this special session is primarily on the following topics:
- Video-based monitoring of environments
- Biometric data analysis (eye – iris – face – fingerprint – signature – voice analysis)
- Behavioral analysis (posture – gait – user habits analysis and modeling)
- Content-based encoding of visual and behavioral data
- Personalised and natural interaction applications
