Essential Transport Information

By air

Santa Margherita Ligrue is located close to Genoa Airport (approximately 40 minutes away) and Pisa Airport (approximately 1 ½ hours away) Milan International Airport (2 hours away)

All airports are served by many of the low cost airlines as well as some of the major international airlines including:

By train

Trains are available to Santa Margherita and are reasonably priced. Santa Margherita train station is central and on the main railway line between Pisa and Genoa, and provides good connections with the rest of Italy. There is easy access from Rome and other big cities. You may need to change to a 'stopping' train at a nearby station such as Chiavari.

Trains from Genoa Airport:
From Genoa Airport you can take a taxi or the airport bus to Genoa's train station.

Between two and three coastal trains per hour connect Santa Margherita with Genoa (regional: 35 min.; high-speed: 25 min.)

Trains from Pisa Airport:
The train station is located within the Pisa airport and trains run frequently to Santa Margherita every hour taking 3 hours on a local train or 1 hour 30mins on a high speed train.

Trains from Milan:
There are up to 3 trains per hour from Milan to Genoa, taking on average 1 hour 30 mins.

There are a number of local resorts that are linked to Santa Margherita Ligure by train Camogli (5 min.), Rapallo (3 min.).

The most recommended website is the one below but it only seems to be in Italian!
