Authors Information

Submit your final paper>

The Radar 2007 final paper submission is now active. The maximum 5-page, 2-column paper format is familiar to many Institution of Engineering and Technology conference participants.

Final papers should be submitted via the same method as the draft paper by clicking here. The final paper MUST be submitted by Monday, 18 June 2007. Failure to comply with this date will result in the paper not being published in the Radar 2007 Conference Proceedings.

Radar 2007 Paper Template Paper Template

To submit your full paper you will need to re-enter the on-line submission process. Please check very carefully that all the information you have provided is correct. Here is a summary of what you should have provided:

  • Click on the number of the paper you wish to submit
  • Check the title is still correct. In the title of the paper the initial letters should be capitalised in all words except articles and prepositions (e.g.: in, a, an, and, the, there, their, do, on, of, from, with, at etc.). E.g. "Er-Doped Si Nanocrystals as a Candidate for Optical Amplification"
  • Browse to upload your PDF camera-ready file. Please do not page number your file and ensure that the file is not locked for editing
  • Ensure a biography of the presenting author is entered
  • Ensure all authors are listed on the final page. Again using lower case letters except for the first letter of each name
  • Ensure affiliations are correct. This is for the organisation you represent, e.g. London Power Associates Ltd and not professional affiliation e.g. The Institution of Engineering and Technology
  • Click finish to complete. You will receive a confirmation email

Papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings from the author-supplied 'camera-ready' copy. Please do not page number your file. Original material must be provided in all cases and the paper must be in the form of a PDF document.

Copyright

Each paper must be submitted with a completed copyright form, assigning copyright to the Institution of Engineering and Technology. This enables the Institution to publish the paper in the Proceedings. To download copyright forms please click here.

The copyright form allows you to identify your paper as UK Crown Copyright or as the property of the US Government.

If you cannot assign copyright to the Institution of Engineering and Technology but can allow your paper to be published, please contact the organisers to request the licence to publish form.

Publication Clearance

If your organisation requires you to put the paper through a clearance process, please ensure that you do this in time to submit the final paper by Monday, 18 June 2007.

Registration

Each paper must have at least one author registered by Monday, 10 September 2007, to avoid the paper being withdrawn from the conference proceedings. You are reminded that the Institution or other associated societies cannot meet any travelling or subsistence expenses for authors, either prior to or during the conference.

Paper Prizes

Three prizes will be offered at Radar 2007:

Best Conference Paper prize

Sponsored by Raytheon

A prize will be awarded for the paper that is judged to be the best paper in the conference. Particular consideration will be given to papers submitted on new or novel technologies.

Best Student Presentation Prize

Sponsored by UCL

Papers by students are encouraged and a prize for the best formal presentation or poster presentation by a student will also be awarded during the conference. Student authors are asked to indicate that they wish to be considered when submitting their final papers.

Best Poster Prize

The Organising Committee is keen to promote the use of poster presentations and it is likely that some topics will be covered exclusively by this format. Authors who believe that their papers are better suited to a poster format, because of their interactive, multimedia nature or mathematical complexity, are requested to indicate this on their draft submission. This format provides the authors with the opportunity to display their paper with related equipment for hands-on demonstrations and in-depth discussions with conference participants. Poster papers will also be published in the proceedings. It is expected that a number of invited poster papers will be commissioned, in line with the chosen poster session themes, and a prize for the best poster presentation will be awarded during the conference.
